Barrier Property of Cosmetic Packaging
The barrier packaging of cosmetic packaging needs to have both protective, functional and decorative requirements in one,
in which the protective function of packaging is the most basic and most important function, and has a good barrier is one of the requirements of
the protective function of packaging.
1.In addition to glass, ceramic and metal materials with good barrier properties, the packaging materials for cosmetics, whether blown bottles or injection moulding cans, whether flexible pipes or films, are all made of polymer materials such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH). Or the physical or chemical modification of these materials, which is what we often refer to as plastics.
2.The microstructure of plastics shows that plastic materials are not airtight, as shown in the following figure, the surface of PE and PP materials can be observed under high power electron microscope, and the existence of holes in the materials can be seen, which is enough to make us realize that plastic materials themselves have certain permeability.
