Three new regulations issued by SFDA
On April 8, the State Food and Drug Administration issued three new regulations successively, namely, the classification rules and catalogue of cosmetics, the evaluation criteria for cosmetic efficacy claims, and the technical guidelines for cosmetic safety assessment (2021 Edition). From the outside to the inside, it not only defines the classification of cosmetics, but also points out the evaluation test requirements and safety assessment methodology for different efficacy claims. All three regulations will come into effect on May 1 this year.
The release of the new regulations indicates that China's cosmetics has officially entered the era of efficacy evaluation, which will make the cosmetics industry bid farewell to "boasting". At the same time, it will set the threshold for many enterprises and bring an unprecedented reshuffle.
